Eliet chippers are produced in Belgium; the business was started by one man called Emiel Eliet in around 1980. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength. Eliet machines have built up an excellent reputation within the industry.

Petrol And Electric Power
The Eliet maestro chipper is powered by a 5.5 hp Briggs & Stratton XR 750. The single-cylinder 163cc engine develops 5 hp. The engine has a traditional recoil start with a manual choke. The warranty is for two years for professional and consumer use.
Electric models are available, although I must admit my preference would be the petrol model. Not only for the extra power, but also for the convenience of not having to find an electricity supply and having a trailing cable in the garden. The smallest electric model is a 4 hp 3000 Watts electric motor. There is also a 5.5 hp electric motor, which requires 3500 W of power.
Shredding Capability
The maximum shredding width is up to 40 mm, which is 1.5 inches. So for lite and regular pruning in the garden, the Eliet chipper shredder can cope well.
The chopping speed or cuts per minute is 36,000, which is quite considerable. And the capacity of the machine is ten full wheelbarrows. This suggests to me that it has quite a good capacity for a machine of this size.
The spreader uses the Eliet chopping principle. There is an option available that gives multipurpose grating; in other words, it changes the wood chip size.

The blades or knives are reversible, which is always a good thing. There are 12 Eliet resist knives that make up the chopping principle.
Collector
The Eliet chipper is fitted with a collector, so rather than the chippings ending up on the ground, there is an easy-draw type collector. The collector has a 60 L capacity or 16 US gallons.
Eliet Chopping Principle
The Eliet chippers have a very unique shredding system, which is known as the “Chopping Principle”. It’s a similar principle to a timber axe which goes with the grain of the wood. The green waste is converted into small chips within a splitting and cutting cycle. This helps to create a woodchip material that is very compostable.
Compact Storage
The Eliet maestro chipper shredder can easily be put in the boot or the back of an estate car. The feed chute is completely removable; no tools are required to remove the feed chute. The fact that the machine is compact makes it easy to store in a shed or garage when the machine is out of use.
