The Mountfield S481 PD LS is a self-propelled 4 wheel lawn mower featuring a 48 cm cutting width, single speed power drive, push button start, mulch plug and side discharge chute.The Mountfield S481 PD / LS has a single speed power drive which is a must for mowing larger lawns or up inclines. If a lawnmower is self-propelled it will propel the user along at a comfortable travelling pace, this saves time and cuts down on operator fatigue associated with push models. A four wheeled mower this size would be suitable for domestic lawn and garden areas of approx 40m x 40m. A 4 wheeled mower will give a good cut and finish to most lawn types.Starting this mower couldn’t be simpler. A small lithium battery attaches to the engine so it can be started at the push of a button.The Mountfield S481 PD LS gives the operator a choice of 5 cutting height positions from 25 – 65 mm adjusted with the centralised lever so you can always pick the perfect cut for the lawn. Start on the highest setting & work down gradually to achieve the best cut & finish to the lawn. If you start too low you can put strain on the engine, block the mower, damage it or the lawn you’re trying to cut.As standard with the Mountfield S481 PD LS you will receive a mulch plug. When fitted at the rear of the mower into the grass chute the plug allows the grass cuttings to be mulched into tiny pieces which are then blown back onto the ground. These nutrient rich pieces are re-absorbed for a healthier lawn appearance and growth. The side discharge chute is useful when cutting longer grass in less formal areas. The grass cuttings will be deposited alongside the mower in neat lines where they can wilt back naturally.
