Racing 139PTIL63-C Petrol Tiller
As you might know, I always like to try and make life in the garden as easy as possible. A garden tiller is a machine that can help you do this in an efficient way.
Most people think of a tiller as a machine that is used to dig the garden. This is obviously something that a tiller can do, however, I prefer to dig a vegetable patch by hand if I can. I appreciate that this isn’t always possible depending on the size of the garden.
A garden tiller is a fantastic tool for making a spring seedbed and for hoeing or weeding. I recently purchased a small but good quality tiller exactly for that purpose, hoeing and weeding.
The Racing 139PTIL63-C garden tiller is ideal for making a spring seedbed and hoeing and weeding your garden. It’s far quicker than using a fork or a garden hoe!
Petrol Engine
With a high-capacity and high-torque, the 139cc air-cooled four-stroke petrol engine gives the garden tiller plenty of power. I much prefer petrol power over electric power as there is no need for a trailing cable and the tiller can be used anywhere. The petrol engine has a traditional recoil starting cord with a fuel tank capacity of 1.2 L.
Digging Rotors
The maximum digging width of the Racing garden tiller is 36 cm which is approximately 15 inches. The tiller has 24 tines which are spread across six sets of blades. In other words, four digging tines on each set of blades. The digging rotors can be individually removed to make the garden tiller narrower for hoeing purposes and weeding borders.
A protective guard that runs the length of the rotors helps to protect the operator from flying debris. The guard also assists in helping to break down the soil as the soil is thrown against the guard. The tiller has an adjustable metal skid that determines the digging depth.
A Lightweight Tiller
The tiller weighs just 32.7 kg which is around 70 pounds in weight. So it’s heavy enough to dig and till the soil and yet light enough to move around.
Some garden tillers offer a reverse gear, for ease of use. However, the Racing 139PTIL63-C garden tiller just has one forward speed. If you are looking for a tiller with a reverse gear, we do have a selection of tillers and rotavator’s on our website.
To Conclude
The Racing 139PTIL63-C garden tiller is ideal for the keen gardener who wants to make life easy in the garden. It is a lightweight tiller, so it is not designed for really tough jobs, just basic garden tilling and weeding. The best plus points are the fact that it has good reviews averaging 4.7 out of five. And has a two-year peace of mind warranty.
Although the tiller is a lightweight machine, it does not have a reverse gear. It takes effort to drag a tiller around when you are turning and negotiating corners. If you want a tiller that is slightly more manoeuvrable you may need to look for a machine with a reverse gear for ease of use. Once again we have a range of tillers on our Website.
