Today we are looking at the FBT400 Heavy-Duty Petrol Chipper-Shredder. This petrol chipper shredder is on special offer at £1195, a saving of £295. With a 420 cc engine that develops 15 hp and comes with overhead valve technology, which in turn produces excellent economy. This is certainly one of the more powerful petrol chipper-shredders that I have come across. To be fair even the towed professional wood chippers start at 18 hp and go up to about 40 hp. They obviously go higher when you get into the larger heavy-duty wood chippers.
A high-powered petrol chipper-shredder for heavy duty domestic use.
HS steel blades for longer-lasting life and stay sharp longer.
Chips large branches up to 4 inches (102 mm) capacity.
Ideal for green waste, including leaves, hedge cuttings, twigs and more.
Pneumatic tyres for easy movement and transport.
Dual input chute for branches and shredding.
High torque transmission belt.
Large Capacity
The Feider FBT400 Heavy-Duty Petrol Chipper-Shredder has a large capacity for a petrol chipper-shredder. It will cope with branches up to 4 inches (102 mm) which is more than enough for most gardeners. Anything larger than 4 inches I would be logging up for the fire!
There are two feed chutes, one is for branches and the other is for shredding leaves, grass clippings, small twigs and much more. The idea of shredding leaves and hedge clippings etc is to help the material compost quicker. I always try and put back into the garden everything that I take out. Through doing this on a regular basis it greatly improves the soil, which in turn helps the plants and makes weeding your borders easier. Everything that you grow in your garden can potentially be put back in!
If you’re looking for a slightly smaller capacity petrol chipper-shredder you may be interested in the Feider FBT220 Petrol Chipper-Shredder. This petrol chipper-shredder obviously doesn’t have the capacity of the Feider FBT400 Heavy-Duty Petrol Chipper-Shredder. This machine again is on special offer at £795 and offers a saving of £204.
To Conclude
If you’re a keen gardener and have lots of pruning and branches to dispose of the Feider FBT400 Heavy-Duty Petrol Chipper-Shredder is a great option. It definitely offers value for money for petrol chipper-shredder of this power and with the five-year warranty, it helps to give peace of mind when purchasing. I’m all for keeping costs and overheads down when it comes to machinery.

We are pleased to announce that we are now agents for the Belrobotics robotic mowers and the Belrobotics ball collector.
I first started selling robotic mowers for domestic gardens 12 years ago as I could see the benefits were massive. Many of us are very busy. The last thing we want to do is to spend time sitting on a lawnmower cutting grass. Although I know there are some people who actually find grass cutting very therapeutic! The fact is that a robotic lawnmower is totally automatic. A robotic mower can be controlled from your PC, tablet or smartphone. No more spending the whole weekend cutting the grass or trying to get it under control due to wet weather or being away. Your Belrobotics mower simply mows well you can relax or get on with other chores or hobbies around the home and garden.
We have a wide range of various mowers on our website including smaller robotic mowers for domestic gardens. However, it is a great pleasure to be able to supply the Belrobotics range of robotic mowers that cover large areas that would be traditionally cut with a ride-on tractor.
The Feider FMTB8300 Petrol Tiller is a traditional cultivator which is designed for the keen gardener for efficient soil cultivation. This petrol-driven cultivator features a powerful 196cc overhead valve technology which in turns gives economy and reliability.
Recently we looked at the Feider RTF220 Pro Rear-Tine Tiller, which offers excellent value for money for a wheel driven Tiller. Today we are looking at a more traditional rotor driven cultivator which are more popular with gardeners due to the cheaper cost. However, the wheel-driven type of rotavator is my preferred machine, although, there is normally a slightly higher cost involved. But well worth the extra cost in my mind, due to the ease and extra flexibility that it brings.
At just £579 and a two-year warranty, the Feider FMTB8300 Petrol Tiller offers value for money and a time-saving investment for the keen gardener and allotment holder. The Feider petrol tiller is designed for keen gardeners and allotment holders, if you are a contractor I would go for a rear tined wheeled machine.
The Feider FMTB8300 is powered by a single-cylinder 196 cc engine, developing 6.5 hp. The engine is a robust four-stroke overhead-valve engine, which offers plenty of power and economy. The 3.6 L fuel tank offers plenty of work time between fill-ups. The engine is started using a recoil start cord.

The Feider FMTB8300 Petrol Tiller
The Feider FMTB8300 petrol tiller is perfect for the keen gardener or allotment holder who wants to make life easier in the garden. The 85 cm working width quickly and officially creates perfect seedbeds. The digging depth of up to 250 mm is more than enough for most gardens. The adjustable depth wheel helps to make using the Feider FMTB8300 petrol tiller easier. For example, if you just want the machine to go very shallow, set the depth wheel to a high setting and it will control the depth.
With two gears, (one forward and one reverse) the Feider FMTB8300 petrol tiller becomes very manoeuvrable. The reverse gear helps to make turning much easier. All the tine driven machines I’ve used have not had a reverse gear, which means the machine has to be physically pulled backwards. The reverse gear will definitely save a lot of physical effort, especially when turning.
Tiller Tines
The strong tiller tines allow the machine to penetrate hard soil, but at the same time can be used to create a fine seedbed. There are a series of eight tines on each side of the drive housing. The tine guard helps to break down the soil and protect the operator at the same time.
Safety is always important, the manufacturer has fitted a dead man’s handle. As soon as you release the handle, the machine will stop.
Adjustable Handles
This was good to be able to use a machine comfortably. The Feider FMTB8300 petrol tiller comes with adjustable handles that offer four different positions.
To Conclude
Any cultivator or tiller will quickly make life easier in the garden. The first tiller I purchased when I was started out in contracting was a rotor driven machine, not something I’d recommend for contracting! However, it’s all I could afford at the time.
A rotor driven machine works absolutely fine for the keen gardener, especially if you’re on a limited budget. However, if money is no object then it is better to go for a wheel driven machine. Either type of machine will definitely make your garden easier.
For peace of mind, the Feider FMTB8300 petrol tiller comes with two years warranty.

Special Offer – The Feider RTF220 Pro Rear-Tine Tiller
Today we are looking at a special offer – the Feider RTF220 Pro Rear-Tine Tiller. I am always looking for ways to save time and make life easier in the garden, the Feider RTF220 Pro Rear-Tine Tiller does exactly this!
The Feider RTF220 Pro Rear-Tine Tiller is currently on special offer at £699, which is actually a £300 saving on the normal price.
There are different types of tillers and cultivators available. I would always recommend a wheel driven rear tine tiller type of Tiller over a Tine driven machine. Obviously, different types of Tiller have their place, but in general, a rear Tine machine is much more efficient and much easier to use.
Pro rear tine tiller capable of handling many different soil conditions.
Powerful 208 cc four-stroke engine with overhead valve technology and low emissions.
Large fuel tank for non-stop operation.
Two-speed gearbox making pro rear Tine Tiller very easy to manoeuvre.
Chain drive rotors for top performance and low maintenance.
Debris guard to protect the operator and assist tilling.
Two-year warranty with optional five-year protection
Special Offer – The Feider RTF220 Pro Rear-Tine Tiller
The Rear Tine Advantage
There are all sorts of tillers, cultivators and Rotavators available to the horticulturalist and keen gardener. As I mentioned, my favourite type of Tiller is the wheel-driven rear Tine type. A wheel-driven tiller takes the hard work out of tilling and rotavating by using the powered wheels to drive the machine forward.
With tine driven tillers the tines drive the machine forward, which is fine, but it does require a lot more effort from the operator. I started out with a tine driven tiller which worked fine but did require a lot of physical effort. Moving up to a wheel driven machine was a great move forward as I could literally rotovate all day, effortlessly.
Obviously, many things depend on our budget, but if you can go for a wheeled driven tiller, you will not regret it.
Feider RTF220 Pro Rear-Tine Tiller Engine
The Feider RTF220 Pro Rear-Tine Tiller comes with the high performance 208 cc overhead-valve four-stroke engine. The engine is built to a commercial specification which benefits from excellent fuel consumption, quieter running and low emissions.
A 3.6 L fuel tank means maximum productivity without the need to refuel too often.
With the two speed gearbox, which makes for very easy manoeuvrability. The one forward and one reverse gear makes turning easy, no pulling or straining, just simply engage reverse gear.
The rotors or tines are driven through a chain drive that guarantees maximum performance, no belts to slip or adjust.

Tilling Width
The tilling width is approximately 15 inches (40 cm) so makes it easy to negotiate narrow gates and pathways. The Tiller width is wider than the wheel width making sure that no wheel marks are left on your freshly tilled soil.
There is a robust debris cover that stops stones and earth flying everywhere. The debris cover also helps to smash up the soil as it hits the cover and comes back onto the rotors. At the rear of the debris cover, there is an adjustable skid that helps to control the tilling depth.

If you’re looking for a walk behind mower with multi-functions and a great price, the Feider Electric Start T4640ES 4-in-1 Self-Propelled Petrol Lawnmower could be your answer. The T4640 ES self-propelled mower offers mulching, collection, side discharge and rear discharge. It comes with 139cc four-stroke electric start petrol engine, so no starting cord to pull although there is a pull start in case of battery failure, always useful.
The Feider 5070-AC 4-in-1 Hi-Wheel Self-Propelled Lawnmower offers great value at £199.95, a current saving of £149.
The powerful 173 cc four-stroke engine offers plenty of power and efficiency with its overhead valve technology. The engines 1.5 L fuel tank enables a long runtime, which combined with fuel efficiency offers minimum downtime.
The 20 inch (50 cm) cutting width quickly makes a large lawn become small. The 4-in-1 cutting feature gives the option to collect, mulch, side discharge and rear discharge the grass clippings. I am all for mulching as it saves a lot of time in collecting the grass clippings. Obviously, for an effective mulch, the grass needs to be cut at least once a week to achieve a good mulch. Another plus point with mulching is that it helps to keep your grass green in dry weather.

Racing Walk Behind Mower 173 cm³ 50.2 cm – self-propelled RAC5175SPM
The Racing Petrol lawnmower 173 cm³ 50.2 cm – self-propelled is a powerful four-wheeled mower. The mower is powered by a fuel-efficient overhead-valve four-stroke engine developing 173 cc which equals 4.8 hp.

With a 51 cm cutting rates and seven different cutting heights, the mower becomes a very versatile machine to use in different conditions.
Review Of Predator 38 RX EFI Radio Remote Stump Grinder
Here is my review of the Predator 38 RX EFI radio remote stump grinder.
I have been using Predator stump grinders for the past four years, prior to this I was using American Carlton stump grinders. One of the biggest reasons for changing to a Predator 38 stump grinder was the fact that the Predator has the ability to be able to fit through narrow gateways. This is a huge benefit for small English gardens!
My first Predator was a Predator 28 RX radio remote diesel machine which had its fair share of problems. I then went to using a petrol carburettor (Predator 38 RX) machine for a short period which worked absolutely fine, although quite heavy on fuel. I now have a Predator 38 RX EFI radio remote stump grinder which is so far going really well.
At the time of creating the video I had about 200 hours on the clock, I now have about 270 hours which has been trouble-free. This is after approximately six months of use.

Narrow Stump Grinder
Narrow Width Predator 38 RX EFI Stump Grinder
One of the best features about the Predator 38 RX EFI is the fact that it is as far as I know the narrowest machine on the market in its class. The Predator narrows down to just 26 inches (66 cm) which means it will fit through most garden gates. I believe the next machine up is about 3 inches wider in size, which is not a huge amount. However, I know that I am often up to my limits when it comes to getting through narrow gates, this is something that the Predator 38 EFI does well.
Just one thing regarding narrowing the tracks; bringing the tracks in is purely for getting in narrow gateways. Great care needs to be taken when manoeuvring machine as it is very unstable when the tracks are at the narrowest point. This is fine for going to gateways, just take care as any small divot’s in the ground can quickly make the machine catch a gatepost or other obstacle.
As I mentioned at the start of the post, I used Carlton American stump grinders for many years, they are well-built machines, however, it’s that width problem again! My Carlton 4012 stump grinder had dual wheels which could be removed for narrow access jobs, this helped, however, it was a fairly painful exercise and time-consuming. It is far easier to flick a switch on the radio remote and watch the tracks narrow up.
Kohler 38 EFI Engine
Kohler 38 Horsepower EFI Petrol Engine
I never expected to be purchasing a petrol stump grinder, however, I have and I’m very pleased with the result.
To be fair, I would prefer to have a diesel engine stump grinder. But after having so many problems with the Lombardini engine on my first Predator. I decided to go with the petrol engine version. I was using a petrol carburettor engine model for a few months which worked absolutely fine, although it was quite heavy on fuel.
The Kohler EFI petrol engine is a great improvement on the carburettor model. Although they are almost the same engine the EFI makes a huge difference not only in the economy but also low down torque. The carburettor was a bit slow when you need more fuel, however, the EFI engine reacts almost instantly. Definitely a great improvement over the carburettor Kohler engine.
The Kohler engine also offers more power than the diesel version. The Kohler EFI engine develops 38 hp whereas the Lombardini diesel engine develops 28 hp. To be fair the actual performance of the Lombardini engine on my previous machine was absolutely fine. However, reliability was not! I do not hear many good things about Lombardini engines.
Multi-Tip Cutting Wheel
Predator Multi-Tip Cutting Wheel
The Predator 38 EFI comes with a multi-tip cutting wheel complete with six teeth. Only two of the teeth actually carry out the cutting, the other four teeth are for clearance. Normally, I only replace the two cutting teeth regularly. For the other, for clearance teeth, I normally replace these as and when they are worn with used cutting teeth.
After trying finger teeth and green teeth on previous machines, I do prefer the Multi-Tip cutting system. Finger teeth were continually breaking on a daily basis, it’s not a five minute job replacing finger teeth!
Predator Stump Grinder
Would I Recommend The Predator 38 RX EFI?
Yes, I definitely would recommend the Predator 38 RX EFI. I would avoid the diesel models as my experience has not been good. The greatest plus point of the Predator stump grinder is being able to get into gardens with limited access. The grinding capacity is also excellent.
One thing I would like to see is a slightly better build quality. On the other hand, I guess the manufacturer is trying to keep the weight to a minimum. I believe this is one of the reasons I had so many problems as my diesel Predator stump grinder suffered from vibration issues.
Overall, if you’re looking for a stump grinder with a good capacity for work, I would go for a Predator 38 RX EFI radio remote stump grinder.

Multi-Tip or green teeth stump grinder cutting wheel? Which one is best? I have just made a quick video about my Multi-T…
Multi-Tip or green teeth stump grinder cutting wheel? What is your experience, I would like to find out more?
I have owned and used several different Predator stump grinders, my current Predator being a petrol radio remote Predator 38 RX, which I’m more than happy with.
My Predator is fitted with a Multi-Tip cutting wheel which in general I really like. Over the years I have used traditional finger teeth and also green teeth, the cutting efficiency is very good on the Multi-Tip wheel. Another great advantage of the Multi-Tip cutting wheel is the fact that the teeth are extremely quick to change. I guess it takes about 3 to 4 minutes to change the two lead cutting teeth.
Predator Stump Grinders
There are six identical teeth on the cutting wheel, but only two teeth actually cut, the other four teeth are just for clearance. The teeth work in opposite pairs so there are actually three different positions on the cutting well, obviously, the forward-positioned teeth are the cutting teeth.
However, one problem that I have continually encountered is bolts shearing off, which is annoying and time-consuming. On average, I would say I lose 30 minutes each time a bolt shears off. Now I know I said a couple of paragraphs back that it takes 3 to 4 minutes to change to teeth. However, when a bolt shears off, you need to find the keeper block, the tooth and remove the broken bolt from the threaded insert, this takes time. Plus you need to go and find your tools to replace the bolt.
You Can See My Video On The Multi-Tip Cutting Wheel Below
With my present stump grinder, it had carried out about 15 hours work when the first bolt sheared. Once the first bolt shears, many more broken bolts will follow! I can actually have days where I shear 3 to 4 bolts or none at all!
My question is; would I be better off with a green tooth cutting wheel. In the past I tried using the green teeth cutting system on a Carlton machine, however, the pockets almost wore faster and the teeth! This became an expensive process due to the fact I was and regularly replace the pockets. I believe that this could be rectified by using larger green teeth.
I believe that one of the biggest problems is with the Multi-Tip cutting wheel is that the wheel is not hard enough. Predator gave me a new Multi-Tip wheel a few years back due to the fact they had some wheels that were not hardened correctly.
I would be interested to hear what your experience is on the Multi-Tip cutting wheel and your experience of using green teeth?
Cobra RM40SPCE 40cm Self Propelled ES Rear Roller Lawn mower
One of the most popular questions I get asked is; “how much does a rear roller petrol rotary mower cost?” When it comes to petrol rear roller rotary mowers there is a huge range to choose from. In this video and blog post, I want to explain to you some of the machines that are available and the prices.
I believe that petrol rear roller rotary mowers are probably one of the most practical mowers that you can buy. These mowers can give your lawn a great striped finish and at the same time, they will cope with grass that has been left uncut for a few weeks. The finish may not be quite as good as a traditional cylinder mower, however, the costs, maintenance and practicalities are much better.
Push Or Power Driven?
The majority of petrol rear roller is are roller driven, in other words, the roller drives the mower forward. On some of the smaller machines, push models are available. However, for just a few pounds more, there is normally a power-driven version that I would definitely go for. The extra money is well worth the cost, who wants to push a mower when it can drive itself!?
Rear Roller Petrol Rotary Mowers
You Can See More Mowers below Or Watch Our Video Or Both
Now we come onto the Cobra RM40SPC 40cm Self Propelled Rear Roller Lawn mower, which sells for £299.99. This is slightly different to a previous machine due to the fact that this lawnmower is self-propelled and has a slightly larger engine. For just an extra £30 you can have a petrol power-driven roller rotary lawnmower, I would definitely recommend a self-propelled mower.
The mower is powered by a 135cc four-stroke Cobra petrol engine. There are six different cutting heights and single-speed drive system. The mower comes with a two-year domestic use warranty. You can find out more about the Cobra RM40SPC 40cm Self Propelled Rear Roller Lawn mower here.
Mountfield S421 PD Self Propelled Petrol Four Wheel Lawn mower
The Mountfield S421 R PD 41cm self-propelled rear roller mower is ideal for the smaller garden where you require a striped finish. With the 41 cm cutting which and 123cc engine the mower quickly gets the job done. The Mountfield S421 is currently selling for £349.
To me one of the most important things is to make life easy in the garden, the Mountfield S421 R PD 41cm rotary mower has a powered roller that drives the machine forward. It makes life so much easier rather than having to push the machine, it’s easy just to push the lever and engage the roller, no effort required.
Mountfield has been making mowers for over 50 years, so they have a lot of experience in rotary machines. I still regularly see Mountfield’s from the 70s in constant use, that can’t be a bad advert for a Mountfield mower!
The mower comes with five years warranty, which is great as it gives so much peace of mind and keeps your expenses down. I guess that the only catch is that the mower has to be serviced at a dealer once a year. However, it’s always good to look after machinery if you want it to last.
The Masport Rotarola RRSP18 rear roller lawnmower offers a lot of mower for the price. I would say that it comes between the home user models and commercial models, in other words, a semiprofessional machine. The Masport Rotarola RRSP18 is currently selling for £729.
One of the great things is that the Masport rear roller lawnmower has a Honda engine. Honda engines are renowned for their reliability, I have had plenty of experience with Honda engines. It’s actually possible to leave a Honda engine untouched for a couple of years and for it to start up first time! I have a friend who would normally only buy a machine if it has a Honda engine fitted!
The engine is powered by a 160 cc Honda GVC4 stroke petrol engine. It has a 46 cm (18 inches) cutting width with cutting heights between 10 and 70 mm. The powered roller makes the mower very easy to use, no pushing, just simply engage the lever and you’re off.
The Masport petrol mower comes with a two-year warranty for domestic users or 90 days for commercial users.
The Masport RRSP-22H self-propelled rear roller petrol lawnmower is Masport’s largest machine in this category. Once again it offers excellent value for money and I would put it in the semiprofessional range. The machine sells for just £849 which is a great price for a mark of this capacity.
Powered by a Honda GCV Honda overhead valve four-stroke engine which has a capacity of 160cc.
The 54 cm (21 inch) width quickly covers the ground makes large lawns become smaller. The cutting deck is moulded from a single sheet of aluminium, which brings lightweight strength and no rusting. The cutter deck actually comes with a 15-year domestic use guarantee, so Masport obviously has confidence in their products.
The blades have a swinging action, the idea of this feature is if they hit a foreign object, it helps to cause minimal damage.
The Weibang Legacy 48VE Self-Propelled Rear Roller Lawn mower is a professional machine although many people purchase for domestic use. The machine currently sells at £1029 and comes with a three-year commercial warranty and a five-year domestic warranty. Weibang obviously have faith in their machines!
I have used the Weibang mowers and encountered very few issues. Something important for me is that the strong build system and heavy-duty drive systems will actually last. The only thing that some people may be against is the Weibangs are slightly heavier than other roller rotary’s due to their excellent build quality. Personally, I would sooner purchase a machine that is built well and is slightly heavier rather than something that’s delicate and not going to last so long.
The mower has a 48 cm (19 inch) cut, the cutting height varies from 13 to 67 mm, which is carried out with a lever in 11 different settings. The weight of the machine is 57 kg.
The Weibang Legacy 56 Pro 3 speed self-propelled rear roller petrol lawnmower is Weibang’s largest rear roller mower. With a 56 cm (22 inch) cut, the Weibang quickly covers the ground. At the time of writing this machine is selling for £1399. It comes with a five-year domestic warranty and three-year commercial warranty. To me, I always like the idea of a good warranty as it gives me confidence in the manufacturer and the fact that I have no costs in the first few years of operation, apart from wearing parts.
I have personally used the Weibang Legacy 56 Pro 3 speed self-propelled petrol rear roller mower many times. It has many great features; I like the fact that it is well built and made to last. I have used many other machines that do not have the strength of the Weibang, especially when they are being used commercially.
Powered by a Kawasaki engine, which is an excellent engine in my experience. I don’t like to admit it, but the Japanese engines do seem to be very reliable and economical and quiet.
Three Speed Gearbox
With the three-speed gearbox, the Weibang can cope with longish grass, to be fair, I normally always use a machine in top gear as it seems to be able to cope well. We have to remember that roller rotaries are designed to be used regularly to cut your lawn.
There are 11 different cutting heights that range from 13 to 67 mm.
The only downside of this machine is that it is slightly heavier than its competitors. However, I would much sooner purchase a machine that has a strong build quality and have a bit more weight rather than something that’s going to break.
I have personal experience with this particular machine and I firmly recommend it to homeowners and commercial landscapers.
