Recently I had the privilege of talking to Raavo; you can see the Dipperfox stump grinder interview with Raavo from Dipperfox below.
The Dipperfox stump grinder or stump crusher as it is more widely known is a very unique and quick way of disposing of unwanted tree stumps.
Traditionally, to remove a tree stump, a stump grinder is used with a high-speed cutter head that grinds away at the tree stump. It’s not a fast process, even with the larger track machines.
Dipperfox has created a machine that literally drills out the tree stump exceptionally quickly. Rather than grinding the tree stump from the side of the stump, the Dipperfox drills into the stump, vertically.
The main advantage of this process is the speed at which tree stump can be removed. Raavo quotes some impressive actual figures in the video interview below. Another large plus factor is the fact that the stump crusher works at low revs, so there’s no flying debris. 90% of the time when I am tree stump grinding, I need to board up to protect objects around me. This is a time-consuming job, however, with the Dipperfox method, there is no need to do this.
Two Different Stump Crushers
Dipperfox have recently designed a new stump crusher for smaller machines. There are two machines; the Dipperfox 850 Pro and the smaller 600 models. The Dipperfox 600 is great news for landscapers and tree surgeons who require a smaller machine for gardens. And who don’t have the hydraulic capacity to run the larger Dipperfox 850 Pro.
You can hear more about the Dipperfox stump crusher in the video below.
Today we are looking at the commercial Stihl BR800 backpack blower, this is the manufacturers largest backpack blower. It was introduced to the market about two years ago.
At the time of writing the Stihl BR800 backpack blower is available for £740 including VAT. It also comes with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty for peace of mind.
The Stihl BR800 backpack blower is a great choice for tree surgeons, local authorities, landscapers and gardeners who require a powerful leaf blower.
However, as an owner of the BR600 blower for five years, I would definitely go for the Stihl BR800, if I was purchasing today. I would say that the cost is minimal compared with the extra power and benefits that the BR800 offers.
Stihl 4-Mix engine designed for long life and efficiency.
Powerful 80cc engine developing 4.4 hp.
User-friendly starting system with semiautomatic choke.
Excellent anti-vibration system for operator comfort.
Multifunctional adjustable control handle.
Adjustable nozzle.
2 L fuel tank for a minimum of 79 minutes run-time.
Powerful blow force.
Two-year warranty.
The Stihl BR800 Backpack Blower
If you’re looking for a powerful backpack blower, then the Stihl BR800 backpack blower is definitely a good choice. With a blowing force of 41N (the BR600 which we looked at yesterday is 32N), it has plenty of power for the wettest of leaves and toughest of jobs.
With an excellent power to weight ratio, the Stihl BR800 blower can be used for long periods, with minimal fatigue to the operator. From experience, I know how much work a powerful backpack blower can achieve with minimum effort.
As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, the petrol blower is the tool that I use the most in the garden. It’s also a tool that I use almost every day in the garden. It literally saves me huge amounts of time when it comes to clearing up. Some jobs would literally take me several hours with a broom or a rake. With a powerful leaf blower, jobs that can take hours can be carried out in a matter of minutes.
Engine
With a 79.9cc Stihl 4-mix two-stroke engine that develops 4.4hp, there is plenty of power for the toughest of blowing tasks. The large 2 L tank enables the blower to have a minimum runtime of 79 minutes between fill-ups. The maximum airspeed is 97 m/s.
Another useful feature on the Stihl BR800 is the ability to start the blower from the operators back when the machine is warm. I appreciate that it doesn’t take much to take a blower off your back, but I know from experience that it’s a great feature. However, I believe that it’s a feature that would be appreciated by many operators.
Antivibration System
One of the many benefits of purchasing a commercial leaf blower is the fact that they are fitted with a proper antivibration system. Many of the cheaper ends of the market budget leaf blowers do not have a proper antivibration system. The Stihl BR800 petrol backpack blower is fitted with an excellent anti-vibration system for minimum operator fatigue. The harness is also well-padded and fully adjustable for added vibration protection.

More Features
Another useful feature of the Stihl BR800 backpack blower is the adjustable blowing tube. The tube can be adjusted without the need for any tools. The adjustment simply works by turning a plastic grip on the tube for maximum operator comfort.
The adjustable handle feature can be quickly adjusted without the need for any tools. The multifunctional handle means that the operator’s hand never leaves the handle.
To Conclude
I have seen the Stihl BR800 backpack blower in action and it certainly has plenty of blowing power. When I purchased my Stihl BR600 blower five years ago it was the largest Stihl blower on the market. However, since then, the BR700 and the BR800 have arrived with even more blowing power.
Despite the extra cost, I would definitely go for the Stihl BR800. It’s always good to have something overpowered rather than underpowered. Backpack blowers are bulky tools to carry around, so if you have to carry a backpack blower around you may as well go for the largest!
The BR800 comes with two years warranty for peace of mind.
Today we are looking at the commercial Stihl BR600 backpack blower, a popular choice for many professionals.
The Stihl BR600 backpack blower is currently available for £621 including VAT.
Recently we looked at the Efco SA2062 backpack blower, another professional leaf blower. This is similar to the Stihl BR600 backpack blower however, slightly more expensive at £679 including VAT.
For the past five years, I have currently owned and operated the BR600 blower, which is almost used daily. It literally saves me hours of time every week. I have had five years of trouble-free running, I will probably eventually upgrade to the larger Stihl BR800 backpack blower.
Stihl created their first chainsaw in 1926 which was an electric model. Since then, the company has grown to produce many more products for the forestry, construction and landscaping industry, including blowers.
I’ve been in the landscaping, forestry, and agricultural industry for over 40 years. In my experience, I see more professionals using Stihl products than any other manufacturer on the market. Especially when it comes to, blowers, chainsaws and brush cutters.
The Stihl BR600 backpack blower is a great tool for the professional and keen gardener. Wet leaves, dirt and general debris are quickly moved with the powerful BR600 blower.
Engine
With a powerful 64.8cc revolutionary 4 mix two-stroke engine develops 3.8 hp. The four mix-two stroke engine combines the best features of two and four-stroke technology.
Starting is very easy with the incorporation of an automatic decompression valve. I generally find that my Stihl BR600 backpack blower will start on the first pull. The engine is started from a traditional recoil start cord. The only downside is that the blower cannot be started when it is on the operators back. The Stihl BR800 backpack blower does offer warm starting from the operators back, a very useful feature indeed.
The fuel tank capacity is 1.4 L, the manufacturers claim that the fuel will ask for 69 minutes. I haven’t timed the fuel exactly, but it doesn’t seem far out. To be fair, I don’t often use the machine for one hour plus periods. It is more often generally used for five or 10 minutes just to clear up after a job.
Stihl two-stroke engines use a petrol and oil mix, the fuel mix is 50 to 1.
Search eBay for Leaf Blowers
Antivibration System
The Stihl BR600 backpack blower has an excellent anti-vibration system. Not only are there damping mounts on the engine, the backpack harness and padded hip belt all help to make the user experience vibration-free.
One of the many benefits of purchasing a professional machine is the fact that the damping or antivibration system is far better than the budget models.
More Features
For transport purposes, the blowing chute can be partially removed to make more space in your vehicle. Unfortunately, backpack blowers can be quite bulky to carry around.
The control handle contains start and stop controls, a locking throttle and a movable handle for operator comfort.
To Conclude
Having owned several Stihl leaf blowers over the years and being a present owner of the Stihl BR600 backpack blower. I can firmly recommend this machine after five years of trouble-free experience. It has plenty of blowing power to remove the toughest of debris.
I own a stump grinding business, so my blower is used for clearing up after jobs. It will literally lift compacted mud and debris. It saves me huge amounts of time when it comes to clearing up! It’s amazing how quickly a blower will transform a worksite!
The only downside with backpack blowers is the fact they are quite bulky to carry around. When I purchased my BR600 it was the largest backpack available. Literally, after I purchased the BR700 arrived followed by the BR800. If I was looking for a new model I would definitely bear the extra cost for the Stihl BR800 backpack blower and have the extra power.

Today we are going upmarket to the Efco SA2062 backpack blower, this is a commercial leaf blower for large-scale cleaning jobs.
The price of the Efco SA2062 backpack blower at the time of writing is £679 including VAT. I appreciate that the prices are considerably more than the previous machines that we have been looking at. However, my theory is that if you buy a quality machine it actually works out cheaper in the long run. And you have the pleasure of using a well-engineered leaf blower.
Yesterday we looked at the Stiga SBP 375 backpack blower, a powerful semi-commercial machine that is available for £399 including VAT.
The Efco SA2062 backpack blower comes with a comfortable backpack harness that helps to make continuous blowing easy.
Efco obviously trusts their machine due to the three-year manufacturer’s warranty which to me, gives great peace of mind.
Comfortable backpack for operator comfort and minimise fatigue.
Movable lance handle for operator comfort.
Powerful two-stroke 4.5. Hp engine.
Quiet running.
Three-year peace of mind warranty.
Efco SA2062 Backpack Blower
As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, my leaf blower is the tool that I use the most in the garden. I know we often refer to garden blowers as leaf blowers, however, they can be used for many more tasks other than leaf blowing.
Other than leaf blowing, I use my blower for tidying up after a days work in the garden. This can include, blowing hedge clippings, literally clearing dirt, mud and debris off the lawn. I have even scarified a lawn and then used the leaf blower to blow the debris into heaps. Another great use for a garden blower is to be able to blow down machinery after use. It’s a good way of keeping machinery clean without having to use a power washer.
The Efco SA2062 backpack blower is a commercial backpack leaf blower that is designed to make light work of heavy jobs.
The powerful 61.3 cc two-stroke engine that develops 4.5 hp has the power to move the heaviest of debris. From heavier items like bottles and fallen fruit.
The manufacturers have made the Efco SA2062 backpack blower fairly quiet, so it can be used in urban areas and rural places. The engine is provided with an oversized air filter for efficient and clean running.
It’s important to keep the air filter clean for engine efficiency and fuel economy. Failure to keep the air filter clean will result in poor performance and shorter engine life. To be fair, knapsack blowers don’t particularly pick up lots of debris in the air filter. Due to the machine being on the operators back and generally out the way of the dust and debris. But the air filter still needs to be kept clean and checked regularly for efficient running!
With an airspeed of 324 km/h the Efco SA2062 backpack blower has the ability to tackle most blowing tasks in the garden and in public places.
Antivibration System
It’s important to have a good antivibration system if you go to use a leaf for prolonged use. The Efco SA2062 backpack blower has a good antivibration system that protects the operator. One of the good things about paying more money for a machine is the fact that the manufacturers fit a decent antivibration system.
To Conclude
I always recommend customers to purchase the best machine that they can afford. I appreciate that we all have to work to a budget and we can’t always necessarily have what we want. However, I believe if we purchase a decent machine, long-term, it will pay off big time. Not only do we have a well-engineered machine but we have something that will be long lasting and also a pleasure to use.
Would I buy the Efco SA2062 backpack blower, the answer to this is, yes! However, in all fairness, I have used Stihl blowers for many years, so I would probably stick with the brand I know. Having said this, I have also used many Efco machines over the years and have been very satisfied with their performance. A great plus point is the manufacturer’s three-year warranty, I’m very much for a good warranty as it gives peace of mind to the user. Some users favour them over the Stihl brand!
Today we’re going to look at assembling the Oregon safety chainsaw helmet. It’s relatively straightforward; with just a few pieces to click together, no tools are required.
I carried out a review of the Oregon safety chainsaw helmet last year which you can see in a previous blog post.
I have owned three or four of the Oregon chainsaw safety helmets; more often than not, the helmet is worn six days a week. It is a budget chainsaw safety helmet; however, for £19.98, it certainly does the job. The only issue I have had with the chainsaw helmet is where the earmuffs are held on to bracket the plastic eventually wears, so the earmuffs pop out of the cradle. I guess there may be a spare part for this issue; however, I have not carried out any research to find out yet.
You Can Watch The Video Below On How To Assemble The Oregon Safety Chainsaw Helmet
So first of all, find a table or workbench we can work comfortably. The first part of assembling is the earmuffs. You can see from the video that I’m pushing the clip into the helmet. Once the clip is pushed firmly into the helmet, it can’t be removed easily due to the lip that secures it firmly to the helmet. If you do ever find that you need to move the earmuffs, the clip can be removed using a screwdriver.
Once the earmuffs are in place, push the visor holder into the black plastic sockets. The visor can then be attached to the holder, as shown in the video.
Today we are looking at the Stiga SBP 375 backpack blower, this is Stiga’s most powerful knapsack leaf blower. The Stiga SBP 375 backpack blower is currently on special offer at £399 including VAT, it offers a saving of £60.
Over the last few days, we have been looking at budget backpack blowers. We recently looked at the budget Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower, which offers value for money for the domestic gardener.
The Stiga SBP 375 backpack blower is a professional machine that has huge amounts of power and can deal with heavy-duty tasks. Such as wet leaves, hedge clippings, dirt and much more.
High-performance 2 stroke engine with automatic choke.
Joystick control.
Backpack harness for ease of operation.
360 km an hour air blast.
Two-year peace of mind warranty.
Stiga SBP 375 Backpack Blower
As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, the leaf blower is the machine that I use most in the garden. We often refer to garden blowers as leaf blowers, however, they are capable of many more tasks. I use my knapsack leaf blower for leaf blowing, clearing up after a days work in the garden, blowing patios and driveways and more. I’ve even scarified a lawn and then used the blower to blow the material into heaps ready for clearing up. They really are a universal machine and literally save me hours of work every week. I hardly use a rake or broom as the leaf blower can do so much more.
Although the handheld blowers are very compact and really useful for swinging around and getting into awkward places. In general, the average backpack blower has much more power. The average handheld blower is around 25 to 27cc whereas the Stiga SBP 375 backpack blower that we are looking at today is 75.6 cc, in other words, three times as powerful!
Backpack Blower Air Filter
Engine
With a 75.6cc engine that develops 4.2 hp the Stiga SBP 375 backpack blower has plenty of power to move the wettest of leaves. The engine has a traditional recoil start system and is fitted with an automatic choke and fuel primer for easy starting.
The air filter is placed at the top of the machine for easy maintenance. It’s important that you keep the air filter clean for prolonged life and efficient running. However, with the backpack blower being on your back it keeps out the way from the majority of the debris.
The 2.1 L fuel tank gives plenty of fuel for minimum stoppages. Although I don’t own this machine, basing it on the Stihl blower that I use, my guess is that you would get a good one hours use out of the machine before refuelling.
Antivibration System
It’s important that a backpack blower has a good antivibration system, especially if it is going to be used for prolonged periods. I’ve mentioned in previous posts that the more basic and budget type blowers do not have the best antivibration systems in place. Stiga does have an anti-vibration system on their backpack blower which is great for prolonged use.
Stiga Backpack Blower Joystick Handle
More Features
The joystick control enables you to move and swivel the lance for maximum user comfort and efficiency. The throttle can also be locked into position, another useful feature! The turbine type system develops 360 km an hour of airflow, enough to move the heaviest of leaves!

To Conclude
I always recommend customers buy the best product that they can afford. The Stiga SBP 375 backpack blower is a well made machine that can be used for commercial and domestic use. If you are a domestic user you would have a quality machine that would give you many years of service. The fact that the machine comes with a two-year warranty is another good plus point.
I have used Stiga products and I know many customers who use their Stiga products commercially. I would definitely consider taking a serious look at the Stiga SBP 375 backpack blower.
Racing Petrol blower 52 cm³ 283 Km/h 890 m³/h – RACPBB50
Today we are looking at the Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower, another leaf blower that is currently on special offer. The Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower is available for the special price of £229.99 including VAT, a saving of £120. The leaf blower comes with a two-year warranty for peace of mind.
Recently we looked at the Feider TD55 backpack leaf blower, another budget leaf blow which is available for the cheaper price of £199.95 p including VAT.
If you’re looking for a basic petrol backpack leaf blower the Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower offers value for money for the domestic gardener. One of the great things about petrol backpack blowers is the fact that they have the power to move wet leaves and much more. With a 52cc two stroke petrol engine, the Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower has plenty of power for most blowing tasks around the garden.
A budget backpack petrol leaf blower that an excellent price.
Two-year warranty for peace of mind.
Powerful 52cc two stroke petrol engine.
Capable of moving wet leaves and heavy debris.
Variable lockable speed control.
283 km/h of blowing power.
Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower
The petrol leaf blower is a very versatile tool, in fact, it is the machine that I use most in the garden all year round! Although we often think of a leaf blower for just blowing leaves, leaf blowers are great for clearing up in the garden after a days work. For example, clearing up after hedge cutting and weeding borders, blowing paths and driveways, I’ve even used leaf blow for clearing up after scarifying a lawn.
Fieder offer a range of budget products for the garden from ride on lawnmowers to leaf blowers et cetera. Although their products are at the lower end of the market, they generally receive good reviews.
Search eBay For Leaf Blowers
Engine
The Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower is powered by a 52cc two-stroke engine that develops 3.2 hp. In turn this creates an air speed of 283 km/h, another power to move the majority of garden debris. The average size of a traditional handheld petrol leaf blower is around the 27cc mark. The Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower has almost double the power to move those stubborn wet leaves.
The variable lockable speed control is useful for controlling the leaf blower. There are times when you don’t need to use the leaf blower at full power, for example, when working in corners and gathering leaves into a heap.
Antivibration System
Something to be aware of on the cheaper leaf blower models is the antivibration system. When you’re using two-stroke engines for long periods the vibration can become unpleasant. Professional models of blower have a good antivibration system. However, some of the cheaper models rely more on the padded backpack harness to remove the vibration from the operator. This does help, however, if you’re looking to use the machine for long periods you may need to look for something with a better antivibration system.
To Conclude
I always recommend to customers to buy the best machine that they can afford, however, I know that we all have to stick to a budget and live within our means. The Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower definitely offers value for money, especially for a backpack blower. If you are a keen gardener and looking for a backpack blower that you are not using for hours on end, then the Racing PBB50 petrol backpack blower could be a good option. However, if you are thinking of using the machine for prolonged periods, then it may be worth going upmarket a bit.
Would I buy this machine? Yes, I was looking for a powerful leaf blower to clear up leaves quickly in my garden and not using the machine commercially, it would definitely be worth a look. The two-year warranty also gives me confidence that the manufacturer trusts their machine.
Today we are looking at the Feider TD55 backpack leaf blower, this is a budget leaf blower at an excellent price. The powerful Feider TD55 backpack leaf blower is currently available for the amazing price of £199.95 including VAT. Fieder obviously trusts their product as it comes with a two-year, peace of mind warranty.
Over the last few weeks, we have been looking at handheld petrol leaf blowers. I really like the versatility of the handheld leaf blowers, they are so easy to pick up and cart around and they take up minimum space. However, if you require a leaf blower with a bit more power, then a backpack leaf blower is definitely the answer. They are a bit bulkier than the traditional handheld leaf blowers, however, they make blowing leaves and clearing up much easier and quicker.
Feider is a French company that seems to have grown over the last few years, especially in the UK. Fieder appears to have the ability to make budget machinery at excellent prices. Their products continually receive excellent reviews, something that I wouldn’t expect for a machine at this price.
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, the leaf blower is the tool that I use most in the garden. Not only for leaves but also for many other tasks, like blowing driveways, patios and clearing up after a days work in the garden. A petrol blower literally saves me hours of work every year when it comes to clearing up, much quicker than a rake or a broom, in fact, I hardly use a rake or a broom.
Feider TD55 Backpack Leaf Blower 2
Engine
The Feider TD55 backpack leaf blower is powered by a powerful 52cc two-stroke air-cooled engine that develops 3.2 hp. The average handheld leaf blower will have an engine around the 27cc size, so you can see that the Feider TD55 backpack leaf blower has almost double the power of a traditional handheld petrol blower.
A useful feature is the transparent fuel tank that enables at a glance checking for the fuel level.
With a variable speed, lockable throttle, the backpack blower means that the machine can adapt to different conditions. For example, if you are blowing a driveway, and probably running the machine at full revs. However, if you are in a corner, you will often need less power to have some sort of control over the debris being moved.
Search eBay for Leaf Blowers
Antivibration System
In general, the more you pay for a petrol blower the better the anti-vibrating system. The Feider TD55 backpack leaf blower has a cushioned mounted harness that helps to reduce some of the operator fatigue. In normal terms, carrying a blower on your back makes it very easy to use.
To Conclude
Over the coming days will be looking at various backpack blowers, some basic and value for money models and the more expensive professional models.
As I mentioned earlier in this post, Fieder seems to have the ability to make value for money machines that receive good reviews. I believe the only downside with the budget Feider TD55 backpack leaf blower is the fact that it has a very basic antivibration system. This would be okay for short periods, however, for long periods having a machine that vibrates could become quite tiring. We have to remember that this is a budget machine and offers a lot for the money.
I personally use a Stihl backpack blower, it’s almost three times the cost, however, we are talking about a different league of machines.
So, would I buy it? Yes, if I had a large domestic garden and wanted a budget blower with plenty of power then the Feider TD55 backpack leaf blower definitely offers value for money. I always tell customers to buy the best machine that they can afford. The Feider certainly offers plenty of power for the price!
Today we are looking at something a bit different, the Dipperfox stump crusher 600 or stump grinder. Recently we looked at the Dipperfox stump crusher 850 pro, however, DipperFox is now introducing a smaller stump crusher known as the Dipperfox 600.
The Dipperfox 850 pro is a great stump crusher, however, many users, do not have a large enough power unit to drive a stump crusher of this size. Hence why I believe the stump crusher will be highly successful.
Having run traditional stump grinders since 2004, I know the limitations and the time it takes to grind out a large tree stump. I’m currently using a Predator 38 RX radio remote machine which is great for getting into private gardens with limited access. However, something like the stump crusher 600 could potentially change stump grinding for the future. I appreciate that getting into domestic gardens in the UK will always be an issue and I guess I will always have to run something like the Predator 38 stump grinder. However, I really like the idea of having a stump grinder that can remove stomps quickly and doesn’t need to be guarded up.
Here You Can See The Dipperfox Stump Crusher 600 Being Used On A Yanmar 5.5 Ton Excavator
The Dipperfox stump crusher 600 is 60 cm in diameter. In my experience, this is more than wide enough for most tree stumps. However, the Dipperfox 600 can be moved around easily. So the stump cutter can actually cope with any size stump. I know how long it takes to grind a tree stump with a traditional stump grinder. The Dipperfox Stump Crusher 600 really make short work of tree stumps. The grinding depth of the stump crusher 600 is up to 700 mm. Which is much deeper than a traditional stump grinder that would probably go to around 45 cm.
What Are the Advantages Of The Dipperfox Stump Crusher 600?
Many people may think that if you have an excavator on-site, why not just dig the tree stump out? The problem with digging a large tree stump out is the fact that it actually takes quite a lot of work to dig a large tree stump out. The other major problem is the fact that; what do you do with the tree stump once it is dug out? It costs money to dispose of a large tree stump. This is where the stump crusher 600 saves time and money. There is no levelling to be carried out after the stump has been crushed. All the chippings can go back into the ground.
The manufacturers claim that the average tree stump takes 20 seconds, this is pretty remarkable. Even if it took a few minutes, it would still be impressive!
Another great plus point is the fact that the debris isn’t thrown everywhere, so there is no need to guard up. The maximum speed of the stump crusher is only 60 revolutions per minute.
The Dipperfox Stump crusher 600 can be used below the ground level.
To Conclude
I really like the idea of the Dipperfox Stump Crusher 600, it really seems like a quick time-saving design. It would be good to see the stump crusher in live-action, so far I have only seen the stump crusher on video. I hope to see a live demonstration of the stump crusher 600 working very soon. It’s not a cheap machine at around €19,000, but I can see that it could certainly be a time-saving machine the great work rate.
Today we are looking at the Oleo-Mac BV270 pro leaf blower, this is allegedly a commercial grade leaf blower at a domestic price. However, take care as the reviews are not brilliant for this blower, I will explain more later in this post.
Yesterday we looked at the Stihl SH 86-CE vacuum shredder, a well-proven machine that is also available without the vacuum kit. The price of the Stihl SH 86-CE vacuum shredder is £369 or £319 including VAT without the vacuum kit.
The Oleo-Mac BV270 pro leaf blower is currently on special offer at £299.95 including VAT. At the time of writing, there is a free vacuum kit available for the oleo- Mac petrol leaf blower.
The petrol leaf blower comes with a three-year warranty for peace of mind.
Steel impeller with four blades for effective mulching.
Free vacuuming kit.
36 L collection bag.
Three years warranty.
The Oleo-Mac BV270 Pro Leaf Blower
Oleo-Mac was founded in northern Italy in 1972. The company has grown considerably over the years producing many different machines for the garden.
As I have mentioned in previous posts the petrol leaf blower is the machine that I use most in the garden. Obviously, its primary job this time of year is for leaf blowing, however, a leaf blower can be used for many other tasks in the garden. For example, blowing paths and driveways, tidying up after working in the garden, I have even used a leaf blower to clear the lawn after scarifying! Another excellent task for a petrol leaf blower is for blowing down machinery, I prefer using a leaf blower for this task, rather than power washing.
Although more often than not I use a knapsack style leaf blower, I really like the flexibility and compactness of the petrol handheld leaf blowers.
Engine
The Oleo-Mac BV270 pro leaf blower is powered by a two-stroke 30.5 cc engine that develops 1.2 hp. The air jet produces 234 km/hour of air. The engine is quiet enough to use in residential areas. Starting is with the traditional recoil start. The manufacturer claims that the machine has a 10 times longer working life and the cheaper domestic models.
I’m not a great fan of mulching and vacuuming with the petrol handheld leaf blowers as the process is quite slow. It is okay to add those finishing touches, however, in general, I find it much easier to use a leaf blower as a blower rather than a vacuum and mulcher. If you are looking to carry out lots of garden vacuuming, it’s worth taking a look at our range of wheeled garden vacuum cleaners. These are powerful vacuums that are specially designed for the job.
Search EBay for Leaf Blowers
The Oleo-Mac BV270 pro leaf blower has a four-bladed steel impeller attached to a fan which helps to mulch the debris. It also means that the 36 L bag needs less emptying and is better for composting.
At the time of writing, the Oleo-Mac BV270 pro leaf blower comes with a free vacuum kit.
To Conclude
Unfortunately, some of the reviews for the Oleo-Mac BV270 pro leaf blower are not brilliant. The fact that the company offers a three years warranty, although there are terms and conditions, I would have expected better reviews.
