Here is a good and solid video review of the Eliet Vector 4s shredder. I have embedded the YouTube video into the webpage below, where you can see the Eliet shredder in action.
Most pieces of machinery have model names; in this case the 4S stands for four seasons. So, in other words, the spreader is ideal for use throughout the year. It’s ideal for green waste, composting, woody waste etc., literally, all that garden waste that you collect throughout the year can be put through the chipper and composted.
Unique Blades
The range of Eliet shredders has a unique blade system, totally different to any other manufacturer. There’s very quick and easy access to get to the blades, so you can quickly see if they are blunt or not. If you’re hiring the machine out, blades can very easily be checked to see that no damage has occurred, which is quite a plus point! There’s a swing door to access the blades.
The Eliet Vector 4s is fitted with 20 serrated toothed blades; the fundamental principle is designed to drag the material into the blades and act like a chopping principle. The blades will act like an axe and drag the boarding as it goes. The other very useful feature of the Eliet Vector 4s shredder is the fact that it has rollers to feed the material into the machine. In the video, you can see that the spreader makes excellent material which can either be composted or spread on borders. Personally, I would prefer to compost the material for a year and then spread the compost after it has broken down a bit. However, other people often prefer to spread the chippings directly.
All the Eliet shredders have the same chipping principle. However, the higher you go up the range, the larger the engine power, and the number of cutting teeth increases.
Blower Spout
It is possible to actually blow the chippings directly onto your flowerbeds or shrub borders if you’re not going to compost the chippings. The spout can be turned in any direction, which makes it highly manoeuvrable and enables you to put the chippings exactly where you want them to go. Simply undo the lock screw and swivel the blower spout to the required position.
The Eliet Vector 4s shredder is a semiprofessional shredder that is capable of handling an 80 mm diameter branch. That equals slightly over 3 inches in Imperial measurements.
With a 75 cm wheelbase, it’s ideal and compact for getting around driveways and paths and into back gardens etc.
Honda Petrol Engine
I am pleased to see that the Eliet Vector 4S shredder is powered by a 13 hp 4 stroke Honda petrol engine. I have owned and used a lot of machines which are powered by Honda. I don’t think that I have ever had a problem with a Honda engine, they are extremely reliable and very economical.
In most cases, I have found that Honda engine start-up at the first pull, even if the engine has been left a year or so!
Three Different Options
The Eliet Vector 4s shredder comes in three versions. There is a self-propelled wheeled version, and a push version. There is now also a tracked version, which is great, but obviously, it does increase the cost of the machine.
The drive speed is adjusted by twisting the grip on the handlebars in forward or reverse; the further you twist it, the faster you go!
Self-Feeding Shredder
One of the main advantages of the Vector spreader is the fact that it has self-feeding properties, so you don’t have to push the material into the chute; it feeds itself. Once you have pushed the material into the chute, you can walk away and pick up your next piece of material. The rollers will pull the material into the shredding blades.
Reversible feed rollers
Another useful feature of the Vector is that if any material becomes jammed or stuck, you can reverse the rollers easily to clear the blockage. There is a lever that simply enables you to simply reverse the rollers.
Park Brake
The Eliet Vector 4s shredder comes with a simple Park brake that locks on the tyres. So there is no danger of the machine moving when you are shredding material. The foot pedal simply turns a break on and off.
Safety
For safety, there is a stop switch in a very prominent position, should the machine need to be turned off quickly. Just make sure that you untwist the stop button before you try and start the machine again!
To Conclude
You can see that the Eliet Vector 4s shredder is more than capable of taking various types of material. From large and long branches to Brussel sprouts stems. All this green waste can be turned into valuable compost. I have heard many people say that the range of Eliet shredders are brilliant, even the very small machines.
..Recently I created a video entitled what type of Lawnmower 2023. My aim is to explain the various types of popular lawnmowers that are available. There are certainly quite a few different types. It’s important to have the right type of mower for the type and size of the lawn that you are cutting. I have seen far too many people struggle in the garden just due to the fact of using the wrong tools or machines. You can see all the different types of mowers in the video. I will put the various categories and types of mowers below the embedded video.
Cordless or battery lawnmowers are a great idea. Due to the fact that you have low maintenance and no trailing electric cable. However, care needs to be taken as often domestic battery mower’s do not have very long lasting batteries. There are some manufacturers that have a range of attachments for the battery tools, so the same battery fits all the tools. It’s always better to have a machine that is overpowered rather than underpowered. The commercial battery lawnmowers have come along way over the last couple of years. However, these machines are not cheap. So take care to make sure you have enough batteries or battery power to be able to cut your lawn in one go. There’s nothing worse than having to stop halfway through a job due to the fact of running out of fuel. In this case, battery power!
Hover mowers used to be very popular in the 70s and 80s, though they are not quite so popular now. Hover mowers are designed to work on a cushion of air. However, that’s not always quite the case, I have often found it easier to pull the mower rather than push it. In this way, the mower tends to float on a cushion of air. Hover mowers are great for doing banks and around trees and obstacles. Some hover mowers mulch and others have a collection box. Traditionally, a hover mower would mulch. There are electric hover mowers and petrol hover mowers, personally, I prefer the petrol models as there are no trailing leads or cables to deal with.
Bosch Rotak 34 R Electric Rotary Lawn mower
Electric Lawnmowers
Electric lawnmowers come in all different types, the majority of electric mowers are rotary mowers with a collection box. However, there are a few lightweight cylinder models available and hover-type mowers that mulch or collect the clippings. I’m not a great fan of electric mowers. However, they do potentially do the job and offer value for money. In general, electric mowers are designed for the smaller garden and will normally average around 12 to 14 inch cut. The plus points are that electric mowers offer value for money and are cheap to run. The downside is that you have a trailing cable and you need a nearby power source.
ATCO Quattro 19SH 4 in 1 Self-Propelled Petrol Lawnmower
Four Wheeled Rotary Mowers
Four wheeled rotary mowers are powered by 4-stroke petrol engines. Most of these machines have a collection system or a mulching system and some of them both. They are available in push models and self-propelled models. I would definitely pay the extra money and go for the self-propelled models. We have a wide-ranging of these mowers on our website.
Petrol rear roller mowers are great for that perfect striped finish that really helps to finish off a lawn. They are not ideal for really long grass. However, they will cut grass that has been left for a few weeks. However, they are really designed for once-a-week or fortnight cutting. Rear roller mowers are powered by the rear roller by a four-stroke petrol engine. They come in various sizes, from around 15 inches to 22 inches. Most of the roller mowers are powered through the rear roller, although there are a few of the smaller models that you need to push. I would personally go for a mower that drives; it’s so much easier and much better for the operator. I appreciate that there is an extra cost, but I do believe that it is definitely worth the extra cost.
AL-KO R7-63.8 A Compact Ride On Lawn mower
Ride On Mowers
Ride on mowers are designed for the larger garden, although they offer a bit more manoeuvrability than lawn tractors due to a slightly smaller size. It’s important that you find the right ride-on lawnmower for your garden. If you have too many obstacles in your garden, sometimes you are better off with a decent walk-behind machine. In some cases, you can spend half the time manoeuvring your machine around obstacles. The majority of ride-on mowers collect the grass clippings, however, there are some models that are available for mulching.
ATCO GT43HR Side Discharge Lawn Tractor
Lawn Tractors
Lawn tractors are for larger gardens and, in general, don’t offer quite so much manoeuvrability as the smaller ride-on mowers. I must admit over the years that, lawn tractors have improved and become more manoeuvrable. Lawn tractors generally have collectors or sweepers to collect the grass. Some models have a mulching option which is always useful as mulching helps to keep your grass greener in the summer. There are also some models that are purely mulching machines. Take care before you purchase to make sure you purchase the best machine that you can afford.
Stiga Multiclip 47 S Self Propelled Mulching Lawn mower
Mulching Mowers
Mulching mowers are great as there are no grass clippings to collect, which can be a huge timesaver. Some manufacturers offer dual functionality, so you have the option to collect or mulch the grass, this is quite a useful feature. Mulching mowers are available in walk behind versions, ride-on mowers and out-front mowers.
Cobra M40B 40cm Cut Push Petrol Lawn mower
Push Mowers
Push mowers are available as rotary mowers, electric mowers and cylinder mowers, the most popular being the electric models and the four-wheel petrol models. For most people, I would always recommend purchasing a mower that is self-propelled. However, in general, push mowers are designed for small gardens.
Cobra M40SPB 40cm Cut Self Propelled Petrol Lawn mower
Self-Propelled Lawnmowers
Self-propelled lawnmowers are normally petrol four-wheeled mowers, or at least they are categorised in this way on our website. Unless you have a very small garden, it is definitely worth paying extra money to have a mower that is self-propelled, it makes life a lot easier. It also doesn’t add a huge amount of money to the cost of the machine, especially if you are purchasing a budget mower.
Masport Olympic 500 Cylinder Mower
Petrol Cylinder Mowers
Petrol cylinder mowers are fantastic if you want that Bowling Green look on your lawn. However, for most people, a rear roller rotary mower is more practical than a cylinder mower. I don’t want to deliberately put you off a cylinder mower. As they really do give a fantastic finish, especially when they are set up correctly. If your lawn is flat and smooth and you really want a Bowling Green finish, then it’s definitely worth looking at a cylinder mower. With a cylinder mower, you need to cut your lawn regularly as a cylinder mower will not be able to cope with longer grass. The maintenance is also much higher on racial the mower. They have a very precision cutting action, so is important that the blades do not come out of alignment by hitting obstacles etc.
Bertolini BT401S Scythe Mower (Honda Engine)
Scythe Or Sickle Bar Mowers
Scythe or sickle bar mowers are great for cutting long grass or tough grass and scrub areas; you can even use a sickle bar mower to make hay. The sickle bar mower will not chop your grass like a rotary mower, so in most cases, you will have to clear up after using the mower. However, they can cut through brambles and small saplings, which is great if you are clearing an area.
Robotic mowers have been available for several years now, if you don’t like cutting grass or you’re very busy, they are definitely a good option to look at. Technology is improving all the time. The majority of robotic mowers have a perimeter wire which runs all around the garden and around flower beds and any other obstacles. If you have lots of obstacles, it may not be practical to use a robotic lawn mower.
It’s important to take time to carry out the setup process as this can be a real-time saver if it’s carried out correctly. In other words, if the installation is carried out properly, you will have minimal strimming and missed bits of grass to deal with! Most robotic mowers have their own base station and can be set up to come out at various times of the day. Due to their mulching feature, it pays to use the mower regularly to keep your lawn in tip-top condition. I have seen many robotic mowers used successfully in domestic and commercial gardens.
The only feature that robotic mowers do not offer at the moment is stripes. However, I am told that this may be something that will be available very soon.
Snapper ZTX105 Zero-Turn Ride-On Mower
Zero Turn Mowers
Zero turn mowers are the most manoeuvrable mowers on the market. They can literally turn on a sixpence or at least within their own length. A zero-turn mower has two hydrostatic motors on the rear wheels and two caster wheels at the front. Each rear wheel can be individually controlled by a lever which gives you variable speeds in forward and reverse and also enables the machine to dodge round obstacles exceptionally easily. There are now some models that actually have a steering wheel rather than two levers. I haven’t used a zero-turn with a steering wheel. However, I am told that they work well. These machines are available in petrol, diesel and there are now some commercial battery models available.
Stiga Park 300 Front Cut Ride-On Mower
Out Front Mowers
Out front mowers are not quite as manoeuvrable as a zero turn mower. However, they are still very manoeuvrable when it comes to going around trees and various obstacles. The majority of out-front mowers have an articulated body, which enables the whole machine to turn easily. The majority of the out front mowers are mulching machines which I have been very impressed with. They certainly seem to be very popular at the moment and of course, with no grass to collect, they are very quick and efficient to use. These mowers are available in petrol and diesel; I’m not sure if there are any electric models available as yet.
To Conclude
As you can see, there are huge amounts of mowers available. It really is important to purchase the right machine for the job and make sure that the machine does what you want it to. There are many people with larger gardens who will have two or three different mowers. But the majority of people, we just use one lawnmower. My personal favourites for lawns are the rear roller rotary mowers, these mowers leave a good finish and are probably the most practical machines for the majority of lawns. If you have a large lawn or paddocks and orchards, then the zero-turn mowers and the out front mowers are brilliant, especially if you have a mulching deck.
As I always say to people, by the best machine that you can as it works out cheaper in the long run. I appreciate that we all have a budget to stick to. However, in my experience, it pays to buy a good machine will give you many years of service.
I came across the post on LinkedIn regarding ex-display Farmtrac tractors from £6995 plus VAT. This certainly sounds like excellent value for a Farmtrac compact tractor. Over the past few months, I have added a few posts regarding these compact tractors and the value for money that they offer.
Five Year Warranty
I believe for me that one of the most attractive things regarding the Farmtrac compact tractor is the fact that they have a five-year warranty. Not that many manufacturers offer such a good warranty. Farmtrac also offers service packages etc.; in this way, you know exactly what your expenses are going to be for the next five years.
The Farmtrac Compact Tractor Is Ideal For….
The Farmtrac compact tractor is ideal for landscapers, equine centres, tree surgeons, horticulture and small farms. Farmtrac also offers a battery-powered model, which is something that I didn’t know existed until a few weeks ago. This is ideal for someone who is working in a greenhouse and plastic tunnels etc. There is no need to worry about the greenhouse becoming full of diesel fumes!
The battery has around 5 to 6 hours of runtime, depending on the workload put on the compact tractor. This should be more than enough time for growers who are working in plastic tunnels or greenhouses. Of course, the tractor can always be topped up at lunchtime.
If you would like to know more about the special offer on the Farmtrac compact tractors, please call or message Terry on 07538 379411.
It looks like I missed an excellent opportunity to see the Dipperfox stump grinder demonstration last week. I hope that I can see the machine in action very soon! You can see the report from RJ Hall Engineering Ltd below. Dipperfox makes a range of stump grinders, or stump crushers as they call them. The largest machine is the Dipperfox stump crusher 850 pro, which is a high-capacity machine designed for clearing large areas. The only drawback with this particular model of stump cutter is the fact that it requires a minimum of 100 hp. Or an excavator with a weight of 14 to 30 tons; the good news is that Dipperfox are now making two smaller machines which require less power.
The next model down is the Dipperfox stump crusher 600, this is a slightly smaller machine than the 850. However, it also has a lower power requirement which can be useful. The power requirements for an excavator are 6 to 14 tonnes and for a compact loader or compact loader, the size is 2 to 6 tons.
Finally, we have the smaller Dipperfox stump crusher 400 model, which is more universal for landscapers and tree surgeons etc., due to its smaller power requirements. The Dipperfox 400 can be used with mini excavators as small as 1.5 tons. It can also be used on all kinds of loaders and stand-on tracked loaders etc. It’s also ideal for use with the Avant articulated loaders, which are now very popular. For more information on the Dipperfox stump crusher, please contact RJ Hall engineering Ltd.
I recently came across the Farmtrac electric FT25G compact tractor. I must admit I didn’t know that this machine was available. I have heard of electric excavators but not of any compact tractors. You can see the original post that I saw on LinkedIn below. You can find more details on the Farmtrac electric FT25G compact tractor here.
I must admit I’m not a great fan of battery equipment, but I have to say in the last year or so, it has come a long way, especially the commercial battery products. I would still be very careful when purchasing domestic battery equipment; it doesn’t always do what it quite says on the packet!
The Same Functionality As A Diesel Compact Tractor
Apparently, the Farmtrac electric FT25G has the same features and functionality as a diesel compact tractor. However, the electric version has the advantage of being able to work in places like greenhouses with no issues of fumes etc. It’s also great for places like equestrian centres, where horses can be rather jumpy when it comes to machinery like tractors and powered equipment. And, of course, the other advantage is that you have almost silent power, certainly no diesel noise or vibration. Although, I have to say that the diesel engine has come a long way in the past few years.
Find Farmtrac Compact Tractors On EBay
Power
The electric Farmtrac FT25G develops 18 kW of power, which equals 24.14 hp, which is pretty good. The battery pack capacity is 300AH, the manufacturer do not say how long the battery will last. That’s obviously a fairly large battery, however, I’m still learning about battery power and can’t give you the full answer. The charge time is eight hours, that’s from zero capacity to 100% capacity. I’m guessing the tractor could be topped up slightly over a lunch break.
It’s difficult to know how long a battery will last for machinery as it depends on the type of work it is doing. Generally, on machines like tractors and excavators etc., I would expect to have a day’s work without filling the tank with fuel. I would like to think this is the same with the battery-powered electric Farmtrac FT25G.
Electric Technology
The great thing is with electric technology is that it must be far easier and cheaper to transmit the power from the motor to the wheels. With commercial battery-powered mowers, there are no belts to tighten; this is a huge advantage as it minimises downtime. I appreciate that the compact is not powered by belts, however, I’m sure with electronics the functionality can be produced in a much cheaper way than the traditional gearbox or hydrostatic drive model.
The Same As A Diesel Compact Tractor
It appears that the electric Farmtrac FT25G compact tractor is identical to the diesel models, apart from it has an electric motor in place of the diesel engine. Maybe this is the easiest way to produce an electric compact tractor.
According to the brochure, the electric Farmtrac FT25G has a three-range constant mesh gearbox. Oil-immersed brakes with an independent parking brake. Standard oil-driven hydraulics with position control. A 540 rpm power takeoff drive with an optional mid-mounted power takeoff.
The steering is still hydrostatic power steering. The front axle has selectable four-wheel-drive.
To conclude
I really like the advantages of being able to use this electric Farmtrac FT25G in places like glasshouses with no concerns regarding fumes etc. It also has the added advantage of being a very quiet way of producing power. I would really like to know how long the batteries last between charges. As soon as I find out, I will update this post.
Update: I have just heard from Justin Thompson that on light work the Farmtrac electric FT25G compact tractor battery will last around seven hours. When using the compact tractor with a finishing mower, the battery lasts between five and six hours.

I have just seen on LinkedIn that Terry Harrison machinery have six new Wessex LS100 log splitters in stock. The Wessex LS 100 tractor mounted log splitter appears to offer value for money and is a popular choice for many.
Wessex LS100 Log Splitters
We all know that splitting logs can be a dull and time-consuming task. Which reinforces the adage that “wood warms you twice.” Using a splitting wedge and sledgehammer can be dangerous as there is a risk of metal flying through the air and injuring the person or nearby objects. To make the logging process more efficient and safe, a tractor-mounted log splitter is a viable option. The Wessex LS-100 tractor-mounted log splitter is one of their most popular products. It is a robust, straightforward, and easy to fit to any type of tractor with a category 1 three-point linkage.
This log splitter has up to 10 tons of hydraulic splitting force, depending on tractor hydraulics, and can power through logs effortlessly. Its floor-level splitting bed makes it easy to position logs, and the two-handed operation ensures user safety. You no longer have to waste time splitting logs by hand; instead, let the Wessex LS-100 log splitter do the job for you.
Wessex Hydraulic Log Splitter LS100
The minimum power requirement for the log splitter is 30 hp plus.
Options
The Wessex log splitter has an optional wide base plate which can be fitted to make the log splitter more secure when splitting wood.
To Conclude
The Wessex LS100 Log Splitters have the advantage of being able to take the machine to the work rather than bring the work to the machine. It’s also a compact log splitter that takes up very little room when the machine is not in use. It certainly offers value for money.
Over the last few years, I have heard a lot of good reports about the excellent range of Eliet garden shredders. Eliet shredders are a very well-built machine, which will give many years of service, especially when they are maintained well. I know of customers who have saved themselves huge amounts of time by using an Eliet shredder. In other words, no more trips to the local tip or any more bonfires. Of course, the other advantage is that all the shredded material can be composted and be put back on the garden. I will explain more below.
Managing Garden Waste
Gardening is a wonderful hobby that allows you to enjoy the beauty of nature while also getting some exercise and fresh air. However, it also comes with its own set of challenges, one of which is managing the waste generated by pruning, trimming, and other maintenance tasks. If you’re looking for an efficient and eco-friendly way to deal with your garden waste, Eliet shredders are the perfect solution. We do have other shredders available on the website, however, as I mentioned earlier, the Eliet shredders come highly recommended. Below, we’ll explore the benefits of using Eliet shredders, their features, the different types available, how to choose the right one for your needs, and more.
Understanding Garden Waste Management
Before we dive into the benefits of using Eliet shredders, it’s important to understand the basics of garden waste management. Garden waste can include anything from leaves and grass clippings to branches, hedge trimmings, and other organic materials. While some gardeners choose to dispose of their waste in the local tip or by burning it, these methods can be harmful to the environment and may even be illegal in some areas. Composting and mulching are more sustainable options, as they allow you to reuse the organic material in your garden and reduce waste. However, preparing the waste for composting and mulching can be time-consuming and labour-intensive, which is where shredders come in.
The main benefit of using the excellent range of Eliet garden shredders is that they make garden waste management much easier and more efficient. Shredders are designed to quickly and easily process all kinds of organic materials, from small twigs and leaves to larger branches and hedge trimmings. Eliet shredders are particularly powerful and can handle even the toughest jobs with ease. Simply feed the waste into the shredder, and it will be shredded into small, uniform pieces that are perfect for composting and mulching. This saves time and energy compared to manually chopping up the waste with a machete or pruning shears.
Another benefit of using Eliet shredders is that they are eco-friendly. By shredding your garden waste and using it for composting and mulching, you are reducing the amount of waste that goes into landfills and preventing harmful greenhouse gases from being released into the atmosphere. Additionally, using shredded garden waste as mulch can help to improve soil health and reduce the need for fertilizers and other chemicals.

How To Choose The Right Eliet Shredder For Your Needs
Choosing the right Eliet shredder for your needs depends on several factors, including the size of your garden, the type of waste you need to shred, and how often you plan to use the shredder. Here are some tips to help you choose the right shredder:
Determine the size of your garden and the amount of waste you generate. This will help you choose the appropriate shredder size and power.
Consider the type of waste you need to shred. If you have a lot of large branches and twigs, you’ll need a shredder with a larger feed hopper and a more powerful engine.
Think about how often you will use the shredder. If you plan to use it frequently, you may want to invest in a higher-quality model with more features and durability.
Always try and purchase a machine that is slightly overpowered rather than underpowered for your needs.
Maintenance Of Eliet Shredders
Like any piece of equipment, Eliet shredders require regular maintenance to keep them running smoothly and efficiently. Here are some tips for maintaining your shredder:
Read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and follow them closely. (Most people don’t and then they have problems!)
Check the oil level regularly and change the oil as needed.
Keep the blades sharp and clean.
Clean the shredder after each use to prevent buildup and corrosion.
Store the shredder in a dry, protected area when not in use.

I just came across this special offer on a Farmtrac FT26HST, it looks like good value for money at £12,495 plus VAT. Apparently, the price saving is due to the fact that it has been on display at an indoor agricultural show event. Recently we looked at a special offer on the Farmtrac compact tractors.
The Farmtrac FT26HST comes with three-range hydrostatic transmission. Hydrostatic transmission enables the operator to control the tractor by instant variable speed in forward and reverse, via a foot pedal. For most machinery, it is so much quicker than the traditional gearbox method.
The Farmtrac FT26HST has just 2.8 hours on the clock.
One of the aspects that I really like about this Farmtrac compact tractor is the fact that it comes with a five-year warranty. Whenever I purchase a machine, a good warranty gives me the confidence to purchase. I like the idea of a five-year warranty with no unexpected costs for five years. There aren’t that many machines that are covered by a five-year warranty.
Industrial Wheels And Tyres
This particular compact tractor is fitted with an industrial wheel and tyre upgrades. Looking at the photograph, the tyres look quite chunky, which is ideal with the loader attachment.
Front Loader Attachment
This Farmtrac compact tractor comes with a frontloader complete with a self-levelling linkage. It also has a 1.2 m bucket that comes with the foreloader.
To Conclude
The Farmtrac compact certainly offers value for money and they appear to be very popular. I guess with the price and five-year warranty make it very attractive for anyone in the compact tractor market. You can see the original post on LinkedIn below.
Flymo Glider Compact 330 AX Electric Hover Collect Lawnmower
Today we are going to look at budget electric hover mowers. Karl Dahlman first invented hover mowers in 1964. They were very popular in the 80s; people liked the principle and the ability to be able to cut banks with a hover mower. Flymo is the original brand of hover mowers, which is part of the Husqvarna group of companies.
The hover mower has a traditional single blade underneath the cutting deck. However, attached to the blade is a fan which blows air downwards, making the mower float on a cushion of air. The mower’s housing has a skirt-like cutting deck, which is similar to a hovercraft principle. Flymo’s claim is that they are easier to manoeuvre than a traditional wheeled rotary mower. And, of course, they have the added advantage of being able to cut banks fairly easily.
Although I’m not a fan of electric mowers, the Flymo range of hover mowers does offer value for money, minimum maintenance and ease of use. Petrol versions of hover mowers are available if you have large areas or you don’t want the bother of a trailing electric cable.
The Flymo 300 hover mower is designed for small to medium-sized gardens. It has a 30 cm width of cut and the ability to collect the grass clippings. If you cut your lawn regularly with the Flymo, it is not essential to use the collector as grass clippings are almost mulched.
The Flymo 300 hover mower is powered by a 1700 Watt motor, which equates to approximately 2.5 hp. The Flymo 300 is equipped with dual lever handles which makes easier when cutting around overhanging shops etc.
Flymo has made the hover mower extremely compact. The 20 L grass collector fits neatly onto the top of the mower. For storage, the Flymo can be mounted on a wall or folded down to take up minimum space.

Flymo Glider Compact 330 AX Electric Hover Collect Lawnmower

We have a wide range of scarifiers available for your garden, from towable models to petrol and smaller electric scarifiers. We have some towable models which are around the £120 mark, which are ideal if you have a lawn tractor or something similar. Then we have the basic domestic electric model, which is £127.
We do also have a range of cordless scarifiers; just make sure that the battery has enough power requirement for your needs. Battery power has come a long way in the last few years. In the commercial market, there are some excellent battery products available; however, there is a price to pay. I have seen domestic lawnmowers that are battery-operated and they can barely cut a postage-stamp lawn on one charge! In fact, it will probably take three charges to cut your lawn, you should be on your guard when purchasing battery equipment to make sure it is up to the job.
I also admit that I’m not very keen on having a trailing lead as they just really can be rather an obstacle and be an extra torment. However, at least with an electric machine, providing you have a power socket, you can get the job completed, even if you have the cable to contend with.
Let’s Have A Look At A Few Of The Models Available
We have the Cobra SA32E electric scarifier available for £109.99. Moving up the scale, we have a Hyundai 1500 W electric lawn scarifier, priced at £119. The good thing is with Hyundai equipment is that they have a three-year warranty for domestic use. I would recommend these Hyundai machines for commercial work, even though they do give a one year warranty for commercial use. They’re more designed for domestic use. They certainly offer value for money.
The next model is a Stiga SV 213 electric scarifier and aerator priced at £155. It’s quite a small product; however, I’ve always liked Stiga products. The next model is a Cobra S40 C 16 inch petrol powered scarifier, priced at £347.99. 16-inch scarifier is a reasonable width, scarifying is not something you do every week, it’s just a few times a year.
The Cobra also comes with a collector, which is useful. Just a note about the collectors. It’s a great feature; however, when you scarify your lawn, it’s amazing how much thatch and moss comes from it. Sometimes it’s easier to leave the thatch and moss on top of the lawn and to rake it up manually. The other alternative is if you have a ride on tractor mower or a large rotary mower which can collect the moss and thatch. Even if you rake up the thatch by hand, it’s not heavy, so it can quickly be removed.
The next model is a Hyundai HYSC 210 petrol lawn scarifier and aerator, which comes with comes with 600 mL of oil. The price of this machine is £369; it comes with a collector. Once again, it has the Hyundai three-year warranty for domestic users.

Billy Goat 20-Inch Lawn Scarifier
Now we are going right up the other end of the scale. We have the Billy Goat PR5 50 H 20-inch lawn scarifier, which is powered by a Honda engine. The cost of the Billy Goat scarifier is £1991, including VAT.
If you have any questions about our wide range of scarifiers, I am here to help. You can leave a question or comment in the YouTube comments area. As you can see, there are a lot more models available. Once again, just take care if you’re buying a battery model as often; batteries do not last as long as the manufacturers say.
